Dynamic Positioning (DP) is now available in all new vessels made with state of the art design. However old vessels can upgrade their control systems to the latest DP control system. DP systems are available in the market but the missing link is the interface unit to integrate the existing system with the new DP system. The interface of the same with the existing Thruster Control had to be established by the user. This is where we come in. ACSPL has indigenously designed, developed and manufactured AIDP 300 Interface Unit.

This is a highly specialized, involving detailed study of existing vessel machinery, system response and the new DP system and logic requirements with a good understanding of the interdependence of all critical system components. While upgrading existing vessels, the DP computer and processor unit may not match with existing thruster / steering electronics.

This challenging task often requires major vessel modifications due to extensive design work and the lengthy dry-docking makes it more expensive. We have the key to reduced conversion time and cost as we can interface or supply new electronics so that old Gear box and other system can still be used.

From conceptualization, design, development to manufacturing, the entire activity was indigenously carried and is a first of its kind in India. AIDP 300 is a tailor-made solution to interface and integrate the existing thruster controls and new DP system.

It has been successfully tested and installed in 13 vessels of Shipping Corporation of India (A Govt. of India Enterprise) and also approved by IRS (Indian Register of Shipping) after their detailed inspection and DP Acceptance Tests.

Today, ACSPL is an established name in the field of Thruster Electronics (CPP, BT, Steering) in Marine Industry and is sought by many clients for undertaking challenging jobs offering tailor-made solutions.
